I visited Balnakiel Bay in May 1987 as part of my second Highland tour. The weather was beautiful and I camped at the Sango Sands campsite near Durness. Walking on an evening along this deserted beach a small flock of Turnstone waders would run just a few inches in front of my advancing footsteps. This picture beautiful portrays the tranquility and peace which can be experienced on a calm day like this.
